Acne & Acne Scarring

Acne is a skin condition or disease that caused when the body’s inflammatory defenses being unable to deal with a combination of oil overproduction and a concentration of bacteria on and near the skin surface.  When this occurs, an outbreak can result in a wide range of symptoms such as blackheads, whiteheads, redness spots, unsightly and painful pustules, painful to touch nodules, and even cysts. Furthermore, unless there is an early and effective intervention, it may not be possible to prevent a possible acne scar. In our clinic, the goal is to manage the majority of acne problems by using appropriate treatments and creams, while avoiding the more radical step of oral medications.  Because there is no known absolute cure, we are dedicated to improving and managing acne symptoms.  Controlling repeated outbreaks allows our clients to go about their lives with as little concern and worry about their skin as possible. With this troublesome, persistent condition being properly controlled, a client’s confidence in his or her personal appearance can be demonstrably restored and with it, they can expect more enjoyment in life. Fortunately, over recent years, a growing number of successful treatments for acne sufferers have been introduced.

  • What is Acne scarring?

  • Large blemishes on the skin can remain once acne has subsided. These can be made worse because of the unconscious picking the spots which can leave crater-like dimples, lumps, and bumps. This situation can be made substantially worse for the sufferer if the areas are scratched or picked at while the disease is still active. Acne scarring is the most common complaint by teenagers.

  • When should I treat my Acne scars?

  • It is by far much more effective and easier to treat scars while they are still fresh and before they have “matured”, and getting difficult to be treated.

  • Is there any contraindication for Acne scarring treatments?

  • There are some medications such as oral Isotretinoin (Roaccutane) which would contraindicate immediate acne treatment.  For instance, if you have used oral Isotretinoin (Roaccutane) recently, you may be advised to wait approximately six months before beginning a course of treatment with us.

  • Which treatment is the best Acne scar treatment?

  • Because of the extensive range of treatments and the unique nature of each client’s skin, our aestheticians will approach your case on an individual “address and treat” method.  This frequently achieves the best overall result. We appreciate the serious psychological effect caused by severe acne scars on patients.  As a result, while we will strive to find methods for rapid improvement, we also want this to be the best long-term solution for you and reaching this goal takes commitment and time.
