Mesolipo (Mesotherapy) Fat Melting

A highly popular treatment, Mesotherapy is a safe, natural alternative to invasive cosmetic procedures.  It delivers active ingredients directly into the fat cells in order to achieve desirable results. Mesotherapy can help demonstrably in fat reduction by using high quality natural active ingredients to stimulate the breakdown of fat cells in cellulite, and localised fat concern. These high concentrations of ingredients are Centella Asiatica, Gotu Kola, Escin, Horse Chestnut, Forskolin, Caffeine, and Retinol.

  • What is Mesotherapy?

  • This is a non-invasive treatment which helps to stimulate the metabolism of fat by melting it away from under the skin’s surface. This is administered in a series of mini-injections. Mesotherapy is also renowned as a highly effective rejuvenating treatment and the procedure can be used to tone and tighten sagging skin on the neck, legs, abdomen, arms and hands. Redermalization Mesotherapy has a corrective and healing effect as it stimulates fibroblast activity. This reinvigorated body process in turn results in stimulating an increase in collagen production in the skin.

  • How does mesotherapy work?

  • It is microinjection of a cocktail of certain substances and chemicals into subcutaneous tissue (mesoderm) to dissolve fat in femoral thighs, buttocks, hips, and abdomen. The cocktail may consist of certain substances and chemicals such as Deoxycholate (destroys fat cell membrane), Caffeine or Artitrans (raises the metabolism of the tissues around the injection site), Organic Silicium or Phosphatidylcholine (releases fat to be dissolved and taken up by the white blood cells and lymphatic system), Aminophylline, Carnitine, Yohimbine, Ginkgo Biloba, Vitamin B-12 and B complex. The ability to choose from a wide range of medications and supplements allows us to safely tailor a cocktail to your specific needs.

  • What can be happen after Mesotherapy?

    • Bruising: Bruising is not uncommon and can last up to a week if the bruise is large. This happens when blood vessels in the skin are punctured by the injections. This is entirely safe and will resolve with time. We have found bruising to be the most significant in the upper arm area.

    • Swelling: Swelling occurs as part of the inflammatory response and will last for a few days. This is also normal and is expected. With mesotherapy of the tummy area, an abdominal binder may help to limit the swelling

    • Tenderness: Tenderness results from the inflammatory process. The treated area should not actually be painful, but it may be tender to a pressure/touch.  As long as an area remains tender this means that the mesotherapy is still working. It should not be repeated until the tenderness is gone, which may take 1-2 weeks.

  • How quickly can I see results?

  • Visible results depend on several factors such as baseline fat quantity, the combination of medications and supplements used, an individual’s unique response, and concomitant use of other fat melting technology. For pockets of stubborn fat such as love handles, results often become visible after a second treatment when the swelling has subsided, the contouring becomes defined., especially when Deoxycholate is used.

  • How often can I repeat Mesotherapy sessions?

  • We find that best results are achieved by spacing the treatments 2 weeks apart, for a maximum of 6 sessions initially. Clients are advised to rest for a month before we re-assess whether there is a need for more treatment. When more than one area needs treatment, only one area can be treated per session, however other areas can be treated a few days later. We use the minimum 2-week interval, in order to avoid an unwanted reaction to the further administration of fat-melting medications. This is also to prevent over- treatment and damage to non-fat tissue.

  • How many sessions of Mesotherapy do I need?

  • The number of sessions depends on how much fat you want to remove and how your body reacts to the treatment. An accurate estimate can only be given when we have met with you. We advise that even with an assessment, this is a gauge, not a specific amount. We have seen saddle-bags disappear in 2-3 sessions. Love handles can also be melted in 3-4 sessions. Up to 12 sessions may be needed for large tummies. For facial contouring, 4 sessions may be needed. Our aim is to administer the maximum safe dosage during each treatment.

  • Will Mesotherapy tighten up loose skin?

  • Mesotherapy holds an advantage even over Liposuction because we have the ability to add the skin-firming DMAE to the cocktail for skin lifting effects. By doing this, the risk of excess loose skin after the fat is destroyed is reduced. We also can use skin firming equipment to further reduce the risk of loose skin.

  • Is Mesotherapy painful?

  • Mesotherapy for fat melting is done as a series of multiple injections deep into the fat layer. Naturally, there will be some degree of discomfort and that is to be expected. However, a great deal of it is psychological due to our natural aversion to needles. For many cocktails, the discomfort is from the needles piercing the skin. We use an advanced injection gun which makes injections swift and steady. We use tiny needles, so the pain is minimised. We can also improve the sensation by using ice packs and/or topical anaesthesia cream to numb the skin before starting treatment. Our aestheticians are attending to your needs throughout and this helps to calm our more anxious clients into a more relaxed state. When using the highly potent pure Deoxycholate solutions, pain does occur about 30 seconds after each injection. This is because cells are being destroyed and fat is being released into the surrounding tissues. Because fat is an irritant, it causes a strong inflammatory reaction, and therefore pain. We consider a client’s pain threshold and discuss the addition of Deoxycholate into the cocktail before doing so also we can vary the concentration based on everyone’s pain threshold.
